1 cup butter, softened
2 cups sugar
4 eggs, unbeaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
Place butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Using traditional beaters, cream butter and sugar on speed 3, until fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating approximately 1 minute after each addition. Add vanilla and beat for about 2 minutes.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Beat 3 minutes at speed 3.
Place in a greased and floured tube pan and bake at 325°F for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before serving.
